Have used this jewellers for years but although owners the same, different staff I think. I Took 9ct gold 17" curbed chain for clasp repair. Picked up after week but when back at work not convinced it was my chain. Mine 14yrs old and darkish in colour and little bit weighty when dropped in palm. The one given back felt quite light in my hand, brighter colour same length but less flat area on the curbed links.
Even workmates commented on difference. Phoned jewellers and told them I was returning the chain same day Tuesday they said the guy who took my repair (one of the owners) was out till Thursday and they would call. I told them I had the chain 14yrs and know the feel of it, it had alot of wear where as this other one seemed quite new. I know my chain. I went back on the Thursday and the guy said it was the same chain I bought in and would you believe it, my original chain was returned. I took the precaution of weighing the lighter one before I returned it. The owner may not have been aware of what happened but I do not trust the shop now, shame, as I had always taken my jewellery to the owners Mum an Dad and other brother David with the wild hair for at least 15yrs.
