Recently visited this lovely shop. I had very sentimental items that I wanted engraved and I was dealt with compassion and sensitivity by Jennie and her team. I would thoroughly recommend this shop for its customer service and quality items

I too have used this lovely shop and have had many beautiful gifts made for family and friends. They give a professional friendly service each and everytime. I've recommended many of my family and friends and they have thanked me for doing so as it's such a unique gift.
I'll be back soon for my parents 50th Anniversary, no idea what to buy but I know I will come away with a fabulous gift with the help from Jenny and her team.

I recently broke a very sentimental twenty-year-old glass, originally provided by The Glass Lady in Southampton.
Whilst finding their number online, I stumbled across this site and was dismayed to read the poor reviews. It didn't sound like the setup that I remembered. This was not the only item we had bought from them, for probably ten years in succession I would buy something engraved at Christmas.
Despite the reviews, I have been back this week and it was exactly the same as I remembered. Polite staff, skilled work and beautiful presentation.
I would recommend them to anybody.

I got a glass frame with a custom engraving here for my parents' anniversary. Nice selection to choose from, good quality engraving and quick, friendly service.

I have used TGL for many years and have never experienced what these one star reviewers are describing.
The Staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help me make a decision on what I want and what to have written on it. Even when they are busy the staff have given me a first class service. There are not many shops left where you can get a personal one to one from start to finish with a member of staff.
The quality of the work has always been very good, all done by hand, and everyone I have brought for has loved the items and the personalised touch.
I recommend this shop to all of my friends (most of them have had something from here too!)

For the past 10 years I have purchased numerous engraved items from the Glass Lady. In spite of cold detached service from the staff, I have chosen to give them my business, as the individual purchases have suited each occasion. However, increasingly I have found the staff to be unfriendly. Jenny has never acknowledged me as a returning customer. I moved from the area 8 years ago and yet, have driven the 120 miles return journey, buying on average 6 items per year. No more! The standard of the work has deteriorated. Jenny not only dismisses genuine feedback, but her work has become inferior. The whole point of buying individual engraved pieces from the Glass Lady is to obtain a quality personalise product you're pleased to give. When I'm given an item with engraving that is badly spaced and not aligned evenly, I expect it to be corrected. I didn't make the error, so why am I treated with hostility when I point it out.
There are many online businesses offering personalised items. I will now give all my business to these remote, but efficient and customer service focussed companies.i suggest you consider doing the same and like me, not use The Glass Lady.

I completely agree with the above review! I have bought a lot of presents for family and friends from here and love the glassware but the staff are awful. I always come out of the shop feeling like I have been talked down too or I am a 'nuisance' if I can't make my decision what I want straight away. It doesn't matter how nice and polite, or friendly I try to be, I am always made to feel bad. It is like there is an instant dislike to me and it is being shown, particularly by the lady that runs the business. I know that I have been spoken about out the back of the shop too after I ordered because I heard the conversation. I thought it was just me and it was a personal thing but reading the above review maybe it is just the horrible atmosphere and the way they are with customers in general. The woman who runs the shop is very patronising and condescending and if you want a little time to think of what you would like engraved, she gets quite uppity! I have never ever came out of a shop before feeling like they made me feel and I really do not understand why? This is not a one off either! I wish there was another store in Southampton that does engraved glassware as I really begrudge spending my money in a shop where the owners make me feel so awful. If you find an alternative shop I recommend you use it rather than use this one.

I have used this company for a number of lovely products. The last purchase included 4 items. I believe all these items make great, quality presents.
However my concern is with the lack of genuine customer service from the staff, Jenny in particular.
There is never acknowledgement of returning, loyal customers.
She immediately bristles & shows her dislike when something is not to her customers satisfaction. When an order is agreed & paid for, is it not reasonable for the customer to highlight an error without fear of being made to feel uncomfortable.
I would like to continue buying from this business but would appreciate the experience being more pleasant. Thank you
