Hired an orbital sander. Was told that it had been checked for proper operation and safety. The face plate fell off 5 minutes into use. Had I le 2 screws holding the faceplate on, both of which were stripped. My sense is that they pass or float their tools from shop to shop and nobody really takes proper responsibility. How could this have gone unnoticed?
