I inherited an original Charles Eames chair from my father who died 50 years ago but it had not worn well and needed a lot of work to restore it to its former glory. Ian took the project on and spent some time with me to appreciate the chair's story and what it meant to me. He sourced some suitable leather and overhauled the wood structure and metal base, keeping the original upholstery to keep its shape and feel. When he showed me it took my breath away. It looks and even smells fabulous. He has managed to restore the original soul and presence of the chair to its proud yet modest character. It is quite simply a work of art and something that I know my father would have loved to see and he would have had total respect for Ian's craftsmanship and sensitivity for what is a classic piece of furniture. I can't thank Ian enough nor recommend him to you more highly.
